Michael Robinson Chavez recently joined the Los Angeles Times as a staff photographer after several years at the Washington Post and Boston Globe. In addition to domestic stories he has covered wide-ranging international assignments in over 45 countries. Michael has twice been named Photographer of the Year (in 2004 and 2007) by the White House News Photographers' Association. His work has been exhibited in his native California, the Visa Pour l'Image festival in southern France, Washington DC's Corcoran Gallery, and many other galleries around the world. In August 2007 he will have an exhibit at the War Photo Limited Gallery in Dubrovnik, Croatia of his photographs from the Hezbollah/Israeli war of 2006. He currently lives with his wife and assortment of horses, dogs and cats outside of Los Angeles.
