lebanon-burning: by Michael Robinson Chavez Beit Hanoun, Israel/Gaza Strip 2006. Beit Hanoun is the northernmost enclave of Gaza hugging the border with Israel and is frequently used by Palestinian militants to launch Qassam rockets into Israel. Early Tuesday morning Ismail Rhatib Al-Massri, 30, was killed by Israeli troops while trying to plant an anti-tank mine in the area. Al-Massri worked the Erez border crossing by day and was a member of Hammas' military wing during nightly operations. Hammas members and supporters gathered for his funeral on Tuesday July 4th in Beit Hanoun. Al-Massri's wife Hafiza, center, is comforted by relatives as she mourns the death of her husband and father to their 7 children.
