Mir Negor and Haroun (4) and Alia (13). Mir Negor wanted to leave this village. Almost everything she owned had been sold. “The carpet, the two goats and the donkey. Now, all we have is the land, but there is no seed. Even if we had seed; there is no rain”, she said. Two children and her husband had left Shikhan looking for a job. Three other children had gone to the mountains searching for edible roots. “We are waiting to see if maybe some organisation will come to help us. If not, we will leave”, Mir Negor said . “We will go to where the Taliban are. I don’t care whether it’s unsafe to cross the front line.
